The cause is almost always the file's header, not its audio. What is the E-8305 error on Pioneer CDJ?
E-8305 is Pioneer's 'Unsupported File Format' error. On CDJ-2000NXS2, CDJ-3000, XDJ-RX3 and other Pioneer players it usually means the WAV file carries a WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE header (the format DAWs and some stores write) or 32-bit float audio, which the player's decoder does not accept. The audio itself is fine; the header is the problem.
How do I fix E-8305 WAV errors?

Why do some WAV files not play on CDJ?
Modern Pioneer players read 16-bit and 24-bit PCM WAV at 44.1 or 48 kHz (CDJ-3000 also 96 kHz). What they reject is the WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE header that Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, Pro Tools and some download stores write, and 32-bit float audio. Those files show E-8305 even though the audio is standard.
Does fixing WAV files reduce audio quality?
No. The header fix changes two bytes of metadata and none of the audio, so the result is bit-identical in sound. FLAC conversion to WAV or AIFF is lossless too; bit depth follows the source and the sample rate is kept up to 48 kHz. Only converting FLAC to MP3 (320 kbps) is lossy, and that is your choice for players that cannot read FLAC.
Which Pioneer players show the E-8305 error?
E-8305 can appear on CDJ-2000NXS2, CDJ-3000, XDJ-RX2, XDJ-RX3, XDJ-XZ, DDJ-1000, and other Pioneer DJ hardware. Any Pioneer player that doesn't support the specific WAV encoding will show this error.
